This role is responsible for oversight related to the servicing of mortgage loans that are in default.Location: Galleria Area of Houston, TXKey Responsibilities:Provide leadership and guidance to direct reports, and provide clarity around priorities and goalsWork across functional areas to ensure collaboration of shared goalsEnsure effective default management strategies to maximize asset value, including collection efforts, loss mitigation, bankruptcy, and timely foreclosure managementEnsure timely and complete filing of default related claims to mitigate financial risk and ensure timely compensation for loss mitigation activitiesManages a team of VP and Directors ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal requirements workflow Ensure departmental training is completed as required, manage productivity and effectiveness, and ensure timely evaluation of team member performanceEnsure defaulted loans are serviced in compliance with federal, state, agency and GSE requirementsDrive technology and process improvements that create efficiencies and maximize team member performanceEnsure effective First Line of Defense controls (including QC) and KPI's are in place and periodically report on compliance with those metricsContinually improve the default administrative functions; directing projects and investigating and resolving gaps in functionalityPerform other job-duty related issues as assigned What you'll need to be successful:High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experienceMinimum 7 years of experience in mortgage industryMinimum 5 years of experience in Default AdministrationMust have minimum of 10 years of leadership experience/and or managementExperience in First Line of Defense control implementationLeadership and proficient knowledge of federal regulations, state laws, ad GSE/government requirementsSolid analytical skills with the ability to exercise prudent judgment to prioritize a complex workload with time sensitive deadlines Experience in workflow management and KPI reportingExceptional organization and time management a must Results oriented and ability to adapt and be comfortable with change based on the business needsExceptional interpersonal skills in addition to verbal/written communication Ability to work through stressful situations professionallyMust display Personal AccountabilityAttention to detail What we offer:Because we recognize and reward hard work, we offer a competitive salary, a full benefits package, and the potential for a performance-based bonus.What to do next:If Cornerstone sounds like the place for you (and if you have the qualifications, drive, and passion to match), we invite you to become a member of our winning team!
