Oil & Gas Electrician (I&E Technician)

Position OverviewThe Field Electrician (I&E Technician) is responsible for supporting daily oil and gas production operations through the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical and instrumentation systems in upstream field environments.This role is strictly for candidates with direct oil and gas field experience. The position works at well sites, tank batteries, and production facilities to ensure all electrical, control, and automation systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.Core ResponsibilitiesInstall, maintain, and repair electrical systems across oil & gas production facilitiesTroubleshoot electrical issues on pump jacks, motors, VFDs, compressors, and artificial lift systemsMaintain and troubleshoot Motor Control Centers (MCCs) and power distribution systemsInstall and maintain control panels, field wiring, and instrumentation systemsPerform electrical maintenance on tank batteries, separators, heaters, and LACT unitsDiagnose issues using multimeters, meggers, and field diagnostic toolsMaintain and troubleshoot SCADA systems and field automation equipmentCalibrate and service instrumentation (pressure, temperature, level transmitters)Support well hookups, facility construction, and production optimization projectsEnsure compliance with oilfield safety standards and company policiesDocument all maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairsQualificationsRequired (Non-Negotiable)3+ years of hands-on electrical experience specifically in oil & gas field operationsProven experience working on well sites, tank batteries, and production facilitiesStrong knowledge of three-phase power, AC/DC systems, and oilfield production equipmentExperience troubleshooting pump jacks, VFDs, compressors, and motors in oilfield settingsAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics and field wiring diagramsValid driver's license and ability to travel to remote field locationsCandidates without direct oil & gas experience will not be consideredPreferredI&E Technician experience in upstream oil & gasExperience with SCADA, PLCs, and automation systemsElectrical license or certificationExperience with artificial lift systems and production optimizationCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary based on oilfield experienceHealth, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPTO and paid holidays
