As our Shipping & Logistics Manager, you will be the heartbeat of this mission. You won't just manage carriers; you will be the steward of a seamless patient experience, serving as the operational expert our business leans on to keep kits moving and specimens arriving in testable condition.What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)Operational Excellence & KittingLead the Flow: Own the end-to-end kitting workflow"”from pick and pack to dock handoff"”ensuring 100% of orders received by cutoff ship the same day.Precision Quality: Maintain a 99.5% kitting accuracy rate through robust QC checks, barcode scanning, and 5S organization on the shipping floor.High-Stakes Logistics: Serve as the "mission control" for rush and VIP shipments, making real-time routing decisions to ensure life-sensitive specimens arrive on time.Carrier & Vendor StewardshipStrategic Partnerships: Manage day-to-day relationships and quarterly reviews with FedEx, UPS, DHL, and specialty medical couriers.Performance & Negotiation: Continuously benchmark carriers on cost and reliability, negotiating rates and service agreements to ensure we are getting the best value for our patients.Network Growth: Evaluate and onboard new 3PL or courier partners to expand our reach and improve transit times.Reverse Logistics & Patient SuccessThe Return Journey: Ensure patient return instructions and packaging are intuitive and compliant (UN3373 Category B), minimizing specimen rejects due to transit delays or temperature issues.Proactive Recovery: Monitor inbound specimen flow to identify and "rescue" delayed packages before they become unusable.Advocate for the Client: Own the resolution of shipping escalations with empathy and urgency, performing root-cause analysis to turn every "hiccup" into a permanent process improvement.Compliance & Continuous ImprovementSafety & Standards: Maintain rigorous compliance with IATA, DOT, and CLIA/CAP requirements. Lead the logistics portion of regulatory audits with confidence.Data-Driven Leadership: Build and maintain KPI dashboards that tell the story of our logistics health, using data to drive Lean Six Sigma or Kaizen initiatives.Empower Your Team: Hire, train, mentor a kitting and shipping team, fostering a culture of ownership, accuracy, and urgency.Who You Are (Qualifications)Experienced: You have 3+ years in shipping and logistics, specifically within clinical labs, medical devices, or a similarly regulated healthcare field.Certified Expert: You hold (or can obtain within 90 days) IATA/DOT Dangerous Goods certification for Category B substances and dry ice.Tech-Savvy: You are proficient with multi-carrier platforms (ShipStation, EasyPost, etc.) and have experience integrating these with LIS or ERP systems.Analytical & Collaborative: You love a good spreadsheet and can translate complex data into actionable insights for Sales, Lab Ops, and Finance.Process-Minded (Preferred): Ideally, you have a Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt and experience leading teams through high-growth scaling or audits.
