Scientist, iPSC DifferentiationSan Francisco Bay AreaAboutOculus is partnered with a Bay Area biotech creating advanced iPSC-based technologies designed to enable new applications in human biology and long-term health innovation. You will use mouse-derived stem cell platforms, including both embryonic and induced pluripotent lines, to establish robust methods and produce consistent datasets that can be adapted for studies in human models. This role calls for someone with substantial hands-on expertise in guiding stem cells through differentiation and a solid grasp of developmental biology. The RoleDevelop and refine methods for generating and maintaining new induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) lines in model systemsCulture, differentiate, and genetically modify pluripotent stem cells using modern genome-engineering approachesImprove and standardize differentiation workflows to produce diverse cell types from pluripotent sourcesLead experimental planning, troubleshooting, and protocol development for complex in-vitro cell-based studiesAnalyze experimental data, present findings to the team, and contribute to broader process optimizationMaintain thorough documentation, data tracking, and clear communication of progress across projectsQualificationsPhD in Cell, Developmental, or Stem Cell BiologyExpertise in iPSC/ESC differentiation into complex cell typesStrong foundation in developmental biology and stem cell biology, ideally in mouse systemsExperience with computational techniques such as scRNAseq, Smart-seq2, ATAC-seqStrong scientific foundation evidenced by first-author publications in top journalsMission-driven mindset and enthusiasm for high-impact work
