Job Title: HR GeneralistIndustry: Nonprofit / Professional ServicesLocation (city, state): Washington, DCAssignment Type: Contract (April 20, 2026 - September 30, 2026)Pay: $30 - $33 / hour (depending on experience)Work Schedule: Full-time; hybrid schedule (in-office Monday, Tuesday, Thursday) with options of 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM or 9:00 AM - 5:30 PMBenefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).About Our Client:Addison Group is partnering with a mission-driven organization seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support daily human resources operations. This organization focuses on delivering impactful programs and services through a collaborative, team-oriented environment.Job Description:The HR Generalist will play a key role in supporting a small HR team with a wide range of operational and administrative functions. This individual will help ensure smooth HR processes across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced setting, enjoys multitasking, and is highly detail-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.Key Responsibilities:Coordinate full-cycle onboarding and offboarding processes, including new hire documentation, orientations, and exit proceduresManage interview scheduling and provide support to the recruiting team, including applicant tracking system updatesAssist with new hire orientation sessions and employee training enrollment trackingServe as a point of contact for employee benefits inquiries and support enrollment activitiesMaintain and update employee records within HRIS systems, ensuring data accuracy and complianceSupport payroll processing by preparing and validating employee data and changesPartner with internal teams to track employee status updates such as promotions, compensation changes, and departmental transfersAssist with compliance efforts, including reporting, audits, and maintaining required documentationContribute to planning and execution of internal events, trainings, and staff meetingsProvide administrative and technical support for virtual meetings and webinarsTrack invoices, maintain documentation, and support general HR administrative needsQualifications:3-5+ years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar roleStrong background in HR operations, recruiting coordination, onboarding, payroll, and benefits administrationExperience with HRIS platforms, including ADP Workforce Now (required)Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (e.g., Greenhouse)Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems (e.g., SharePoint)Experience transitioning from paper-based to digital HR systems preferredAbility to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detailExcellent communication and customer service skillsBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferredSHRM certification and bilingual Spanish skills are a plusAdditional Details:Reports to HR leadership within a small, collaborative teamOpportunity to contribute to HR process improvements and system enhancementsInvolvement in employee engagement initiatives and organizational eventsExperience with Zoom/webinar setup and training support is a plusThis role is open due to restructuring within the HR teamPerks:Collaborative and supportive team environmentOpportunity to gain experience in a mission-driven organizationExposure to a wide range of HR functions and systemsHybrid work flexibilityAddison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
