Managing Director - MarylandPosition SummaryThe Managing Director is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the operational, financial, and strategic performance of multiple locations within a defined geographic region. This leader oversees Operations Managers and project leadership teams to deliver strong EBITDA performance, operational excellence, and scalable growth.This role focuses on building high-performing teams, optimizing operations, and aligning resources across business units to ensure consistent execution, safety, and quality. The Area Director plays a key role in long-term planning, capital strategy, and partnering with executive leadership to drive sustainable success.Key ResponsibilitiesLead multiple business units to achieve performance targets across safety, quality, delivery, and profitabilityDevelop, coach, and hold Operations Managers and field leadership accountable for results and execution excellencePartner with executive leadership to define and execute regional strategies that drive growth and margin improvementOptimize resource allocation, production capacity, and equipment utilization across locationsEnsure all projects meet customer expectations, contractual requirements, and company quality standardsDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, cost control, and schedule performanceCollaborate cross-functionally with Safety, Maintenance, Finance, HR, and Project Management teams to ensure alignment and consistencyOwn regional budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance, including EBITDA targetsLead capital planning and fleet strategy to support current operations and future expansionChampion a strong safety culture with clear accountability and compliance standardsMaintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, and industry partnersSupport long-term planning, operational scalability, and strategic growth initiativesQualificationsBachelor's degree preferred; engineering, construction management, or related field is a plus8-10+ years of experience in trenchless construction or related industriesProven success managing P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and multi-unit financial performanceStrong operational and financial acumen with the ability to connect field execution to business outcomesExperience leading leaders and building high-performing, accountable teamsStrategic mindset with the ability to balance long-term planning and day-to-day executionStrong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage complexity, scale operations, and adapt in a fast-paced environmentWhat We OfferComprehensive benefits package: medical, dental, vision, and moreCompany-paid benefits including life insurance, long-term disability, and EAPPerformance-based bonus program401(k) with company matchGenerous paid time off and 10 paid holidaysTuition reimbursement and career development opportunities
