Tarbiyah Academy is seeking energetic, responsible, and compassionate camp counselors (ages 13+) to join our Quran & STEAM Summer Camp team. As a mission-driven Islamic school, we are committed to nurturing confident, principled, and spiritually grounded young people, and our summer camp provides an engaging environment for growth, learning, and friendship.About the RoleCamp counselors play a critical role in creating a safe, supportive, and fun environment for students to explore new skills, develop friendships, and grow in confidence. This position requires enthusiasm, patience, strong communication, and a commitment to serving as a positive role model. Counselors assist with supervision, instruction, and facilitation of activities across Quran learning, STEM projects, creative arts, and physical education, ensuring every camper feels included, challenged, and encouraged. This is an ideal opportunity for students and young adults seeking leadership experience, teamwork development, and community engagement. The program runs June 29 - July 31, 2026, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, with mandatory staff training the week of June 22 - 26, 2026.ResponsibilitiesSupervise and guide campers throughout the daySupport the facilitation of STEM, art, sports, and Quran learning activitiesPrepare materials and set up spaces for hands-on projectsEncourage camper participation, teamwork, and positive behaviorMaintain a safe, organized, and welcoming environmentServe as a role model, demonstrating respect, responsibility, and enthusiasmCollaborate with camp staff to ensure activities run smoothlyAssist with daily clean-up and organizationQualificationsResponsible, dependable, and respectfulClear communication and teamwork skillsPositive attitude and willingness to learnAbility to work with children and engage in hands-on, active activitiesComfort with outdoor games and creative projectsMinimum Requirements:13 or olderAbility to work cooperatively with staff and campersWillingness to participate in camp preparation, supervision, and clean-upExperience working with children helpful but not requiredStudent Service Learning (SSL) OpportunitiesStudents seeking Student Service Learning (SSL) hours are welcome to apply. Counselors may choose to volunteer and earn SSL hours instead of receiving hourly pay.Depending on the number of weeks worked, students may earn approximately:1 week of camp: 35 SSL hours2 weeks of camp: 70 SSL hours4 weeks of camp: 140 SSL hours5 weeks of camp: 175 SSL hoursSSL hours will be verified and signed by camp leadership in accordance with school district guidelines.Tarbiyah Academy provides a safe, nurturing, and spiritually grounded summer environment.
