Inside Sales Account Manager - Composite CableBase Salary: $68K-75K - Plus CommissionPosition SummaryThe Inside Sales Account Manager - Composite Cable is a new-business development ("hunter") role focused on identifying, developing, and securing new customer opportunities within composite cable, wire, and related interconnect solutions. This position requires strong working knowledge of copper and aluminum raw materials and their application in cable, wire, and engineered assemblies.This individual will proactively pursue new OEM, industrial, and specialty manufacturing accounts while partnering closely with internal teams to convert opportunities into long-term customer relationships. The role blends inside sales execution, technical metals understanding, and commercial coordination"”serving as a key driver of revenue growth and market expansion for our clientThe ideal candidate is highly driven, prospect-focused, and commercially sharp, with the ability to navigate long-cycle sales opportunities, uncover customer needs, and position our client's composite cable and metal-based solutions competitively.Key ResponsibilitiesNew Business Development & Opportunity HuntingProactively identify and target new OEM and industrial accounts requiring composite cable, wire, and custom assembly solutions.Generate and qualify leads through outbound prospecting, inbound inquiries, market research, and strategic follow-up.Leverage copper and aluminum knowledge to identify application-driven opportunities and differentiate our client's value proposition.Build and maintain a strong opportunity pipeline with emphasis on new customer acquisition.Engage early with prospects to uncover specifications, performance requirements, and commercial needs.Account Ownership & Relationship DevelopmentServe as the primary point of contact for newly acquired and developing accounts.Establish credibility through technical understanding, responsiveness, and consistent follow-through.Position our client as a long-term partner by aligning customer requirements with internal capabilities.Maintain regular communication regarding product capabilities, timelines, pricing, and next steps.Support account growth through cross-selling, up-selling, and identifying follow-on opportunities.Reporting & AdministrationMaintain accurate records of opportunities, customer interactions, and pipeline activity within CRM and ERP systems.Track opportunity status, follow-up actions, and forecasted revenue.Prepare internal updates on sales activity, pipeline health, and key opportunities.Use Excel and other reporting tools to support sales analysis and management reporting.Perform additional duties as assigned.QualificationsRequired5+ years of inside sales, account management, or business development experience within an industrial, metals, wire, cable, or manufacturing environment.Strong knowledge of copper and aluminum metals and their use in wire, cable, or related applications.Demonstrated success in hunter-style sales roles with a track record of new account acquisition.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence customers and internal stakeholders.Proven ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously with consistent follow-up.Highly organized, results-driven, and comfortable in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).Experience using CRM and ERP systems.PreferredExperience in wire and cable, custom assemblies, or related manufacturing.Familiarity with OEM customer programs, design-in opportunities, project launches, and production support.Technical aptitude to understand customer applications, product specifications, and operational requirements.Experience supporting both customer-facing account activity and internal project execution.Continuous improvement mindset with strong focus on quality, responsiveness, and execution.Company OverviewOur client is a custom wire and cable distribution and manufacturing company based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
