Human Resource Specialist (part-time)The Old Globe is seeking a detail-oriented, part-time Human Resources Specialist who will provide administrative, operational, and technical support to the Director of Human Resources and the Human Resources department in the day-to-day administration of The Old Globe's HR operations. This role supports employee lifecycle processes including recruitment, onboarding, employee records management, payroll and benefits coordination, and compliance, while also assisting in the maintenance and optimization of HR systems and digital workflows.Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:· Assist in core HR functions including onboarding, offboarding, employee records, and compliance documentation.· Assist in maintenance and further development of HRIS platform, currently Paycom, (e.g., employee data updates, report generation, system audits)· Support payroll coordination and benefits administration using digital tools and employer portals.· Coordinate training programs and track completion using learning management systems (LMS).· Maintain and optimize applicant tracking systems (ATS) and assist with recruitment workflows.· Run reports and analyze HR metrics and provide actionable insights.· Assist in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local labor regulations.· Draft, edit, and maintain HR documents including policies, employee handbook updates, job descriptions, offer letters, and internal communications. · Assist in policy development and ensure written materials are consistent, accurate, and legally compliant.· Respond to employee inquiries and support a positive employee experience.· Other duties as assigned Technology-Focused HR Responsibilities· Automate HR processes using HRIS technology and creating processing to streamline activity. · Build and manage digital forms and workflows for employee surveys, onboarding, and employee information collection.· Track employee data, onboarding workflows, compliance checklists, and HR project management dashboards.· Create, edit, and manage fillable HR documents, PDFs, and e-signature workflows using Adobe Acrobat as needed.· Maintain organized and secure digital filing systems for employee records and compliance documentation.· Generate reports and dashboards from HR data systems to support decision-making and audits.The Old Globe is actively committed to fostering a culture of equity, diversity, inclusion, & access in all areas of our operation. Multilingual candidates are also strongly encouraged to apply.The successful candidate will have the following skills and abilities:2+ years of human resources experience in a specialist, coordinator, or generalist role Demonstrated experience using HR technologies and systems:Experience working with HRIS platforms (Paycom strongly preferred).Proficiency with Microsoft Office software; strong skills in Word and Excel required Experience working with digital form building tools (such as Airtable, Jotform, and Adobe Acrobat.)Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.Strong administrative, organizational, and interpersonal skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus but not required.Must be able to pass applicable background checkSchedule & Work EnvironmentPart-time: 25 hours per week in person at Theatre located in beautiful Balboa Park near downtown/Hillcrest.Flexible schedule; in-person position.Pay Rate:$26-$30 per hour (commensurate with experience)Please apply here:
