ROLE OVERVIEWThe Vice President, Asset Management is responsible for leading the strategic direction, financial performance, and long-term value creation of the firm's commercial real estate portfolio. Acting as a key advisor to ownership, this role oversees asset strategy, capital allocation, leasing performance, and portfolio optimization across all assets.This individual operates at the executive level, driving investment decisions, guiding portfolio strategy, and ensuring alignment between asset performance, market conditions, and the firm's broader business objectives.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESPortfolio Leadership & StrategyDefine and execute portfolio-wide asset management strategy aligned with ownership's investment objectivesLead business planning across all assets, including hold/sell strategies, repositioning, and long-term value creation initiativesIdentify and drive portfolio optimization opportunities, including acquisitions, dispositions, and recapitalizationsFinancial Performance & Value CreationOversee portfolio-level financial performance, including NOI growth, cash flow optimization, and return metrics (IRR, equity multiples)Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting processes across the portfolioDrive strategic initiatives to enhance asset value, including revenue growth and expense optimizationLeasing Strategy & Revenue OptimizationProvide executive oversight on leasing strategy, tenant mix, and pricing across the portfolioPartner with leasing teams and brokers to maximize occupancy and long-term asset performanceReview and approve complex lease transactions and major tenant negotiationsCapital Planning & Investment OversightLead capital allocation strategy, including prioritization and execution of CapEx and redevelopment initiativesEvaluate and approve major capital projects, ensuring alignment with ROI and long-term asset strategyPartner with investment teams on underwriting, due diligence, and execution of acquisitions and developmentsOperational OversightProvide strategic oversight to property management and operations teams, ensuring alignment with asset-level and portfolio-level goalsEstablish and enforce performance standards, KPIs, and accountability frameworksEnsure operational execution supports financial performance and tenant experienceMarket Intelligence & Growth StrategyMaintain deep expertise in regional and national market trends to inform investment decisionsIdentify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streamsPlay a key role in shaping the firm's growth strategy and market positioningExecutive & Stakeholder ManagementServe as a primary interface with ownership, investors, and key stakeholdersDeliver high-level portfolio reporting and strategic recommendationsBuild and maintain relationships with institutional partners, brokers, and industry leadersLeadership & Team DevelopmentLead, mentor, and develop asset management and cross-functional teamsFoster a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvementBuild scalable processes and systems to support portfolio growth and operational excellenceQUALIFICATIONSEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business, or related field9-12+ years of experience in asset management, investments, or commercial real estate leadershipProven experience managing large, multi-asset commercial real estate portfoliosTechnical & Functional SkillsDeep expertise in financial analysis, capital planning, and investment strategyStrong understanding of leasing, development, and asset repositioningExperience with institutional capital, joint ventures, and investor reporting preferredProficiency in Excel and real estate financial tools (Argus preferred)CORE COMPETENCIESExecutive leadership and strategic visionStrong financial acumen and investment mindsetAbility to drive portfolio-wide value creation initiativesExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsProven ability to lead and scale high-performing teamsWHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKEConsistent portfolio outperformance vs. underwriting and market benchmarksMeasurable NOI growth and value creation across assetsStrong alignment between asset strategy, capital deployment, and executionHigh-performing team with clear accountability and ownership
