Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant with strong experience in general ledger accounting and month-end close processes. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured environment, understands the importance of accuracy and deadlines, and is comfortable taking ownership of key accounting functions.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completenessPrepare and post journal entries across a broad range of balance sheet and income statement accounts, including accruals, prepaids, and adjustmentsLead or actively support the month-end and year-end close processesPrepare balance sheet reconciliations, including accounts such as prepaid expenses and accrualsReconcile bank statements and investigate discrepanciesMaintain fixed asset schedules and calculate depreciationAssist in preparing financial statements and supporting schedulesPerform financial statement line-item variance analysis and provide clear explanationsPrepare, analyze, and oversee profit and loss statements for assigned regions or business units, including responding to management inquiriesSupport forecasting activities and monitor plan versus actual resultsPrepare, review, and file certain business tax returns (e.g., sales and use tax, personal property tax, business privilege tax) in compliance with applicable regulationsEnsure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and GAAP principlesSupport internal and external audits, including managing audit requests and preparing documentationCollaborate cross-functionally to gather and validate financial informationIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracyQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field2-5 years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on general ledger and close cyclesSolid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP preferred)Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar)Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)Strong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
