A privately held, VC-backed software company is building advanced tools to simplify and accelerate the design of industrial robotic workcells. Their platform integrates directly with widely used robotics and manufacturing simulation environments, enabling engineers to automate traditionally manual steps involved in robot motion planning, sequencing, and validation. They are now hiring a Software Engineer to join a core engineering team focused on simulation connectors and integrations. This role sits at the intersection of software engineering, robotics, and industrial automation, and is well suited to engineers who enjoy working close to real-world robotic systems. The Role:You'll be responsible for developing and maintaining connectors that link third-party industrial simulation tools to the company's core application. These connectors enable customers to move data seamlessly between their existing engineering workflows and a modern software platform built to handle complex robotics use cases.Key responsibilities include:Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining production-grade features, primarily using C#, with some exposure to Python or JavaScriptBuilding and extending integrations that communicate with external simulation tool APIsWorking closely with software engineers, QA, application engineers, and product teams to deliver reliable releases used in real industrial environmentsImproving maintainability, performance, and robustness of an evolving codebaseYour background:The client has a strong preference for candidates from a robotics or industrial automation background, particularly those who have worked near simulation, digital manufacturing, or robot workcell design.Required:Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of professional software experience, or a Master's degree with practical experienceSolid foundations in software engineering: version control, testing, debugging, code reviews, and design patternsProfessional experience with C# (ideally within the .NET ecosystem)Ability to quickly understand and work within an existing codebaseHighly desirable:Exposure to robotics or automation concepts such as coordinate systems, kinematics, or robot configuration spaceFamiliarity with industrial simulation tools (e.g. offline programming, digital manufacturing, or robotic cell simulation software)Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern development workflowsComfort working on integration-heavy, systems-oriented software
