Controls Engineer - Building Automation SystemsJob Overview:We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Building Automation Controls Programmer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, programming, configuring, and commissioning Building Automation Systems (BAS) to ensure efficient operation, energy management, and occupant comfort within commercial and industrial environments.Key Responsibilities:Programming & Configuration: Develop, implement, and modify DDC (Direct Digital Control) code, control logic scripts, and graphical user interfaces (GUI) for BAS, utilizing platforms such as Tridium Niagara (N4/AX).System Design & Logic: Review mechanical drawings, sequences of operation (SOO), and point lists to design accurate and efficient HVAC control strategies.Integration: Implement and configure open protocols, including BACnet (IP and MS/TP) and Modbus, to integrate third-party devices such as VFDs, boilers, chillers, and lighting systems.Commissioning & Startup: Perform on-site or remote functional testing, point-to-point checkout, and system debugging to ensure compliance with project specifications.Troubleshooting & Support: Troubleshoot and resolve complex network communication, hardware, and software issues, providing technical support to field technicians.Documentation: Create and maintain accurate as-built documentation, programming backups, and operation manuals.Required Qualifications:Experience: 2+ years of experience programming Building Automation Systems (BAS).Platform Expertise: Proven experience with Tridium Niagara (N4/AX), Delta Controls, Siemens, Schneider Electric, or similar systems.Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of HVAC systems, control theory, and mechanical/electrical schematics.Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent field experience.Skills: Proficiency in network configuration (IP addressing, routing).Desired SkillsExpertise in commercial/construction industries.Strong communication skills for client-facing roles.Self-motivated and capable of working alone in plant room environments.
