Production Supervisor - Afternoon ShiftJob Summary: We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to oversee afternoon shift operations at a plastic injection molding facility in Shelby Township, MI. This role is responsible for leading production teams, ensuring processes run efficiently and safely, troubleshooting equipment and process issues, and maintaining quality standards. The ideal candidate will bring prior supervisory experience in plastic injection molding, strong communication skills, and a hands-on approach to continuous improvement and team leadership.Job Type: Full-time, permanent. 100% on-site.Job Location: Shelby Township, MI.Shift Structure: Monday to Thursday - Afternoon Shift (10 hour shifts)Compensation Structure: $25.00 per hour - $35.00 per hour (depending on exp) + excellent benefits + 401K plan after 60 days of employment.Responsibilities:Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processesCommunicates with Manufacturing manager for processing issues and concernsConvey all information required to oncoming supervisor to assure he/she has all the information necessary to run a smooth production shiftParticipated and contributed to continuous improvement and problem-solving activitiesVerifies and perform process verification sheetsResponds to all process deviation sheetsDocument any and all process changes per internal proceduresDirectly responsible to monitor and maintain process in accordance with master set up sheet in the Job bookFollow all departmental operational procedures relating to the set-up, operation, and shut down of jobsTrouble shoots process issues and receives approval to change the process if necessaryResponsible for keeping any equipment in good working order - this involves regular inspection, cleaning, servicing and maintenanceDocument any noted clear or malfunction of equipment to ensure proper repair to equipment is completed on timely mannerSet tools if needed per scheduleResponsible for all documentation pertaining to the overall operation of their shift.Maintain cleanliness and general appearance or the production floorTrouble shooting of injection molding machines and auxiliary equipmentReports and/ or repairs tooling issues if capable to manufacturing managerInstruct all employees as to overall functions of equipment being used and be confident that all involving personnel have necessary knowledge to operate all machinery in a safe productive manner.Ability to use a computerApproval of PTOAbility to communicate effectivelyMaintains employee relationsAbility to complete Performance reviewsOther duties as assigned by your manufacturing managerSkills/Qualifications:High school diploma or general education degree (GED)Minimum 1 year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Prior Supervisor experience in Plastic Injection Molding REQUIRED!Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
