Job Description

Scope of services: Contract Analyst (Contract)Location: Houston, TXOverview:The Contract Analyst role will focus on contract management for natural gas, natural gas liquids (NGLs), refined products, and crude oil marketing activities.Key Responsibilities:Prepare, review, negotiate, and amend contracts related to the purchase, sale, and transportation of energy commodities that are compliant with company policies, and legal and regulatory requirements.Confirm the accuracy of Energy Trading and Risk Management System ("ETRM") transaction trade data and ensure that contract terms and ETRM data are aligned.Maintain accurate and organized records concerning contracts, ensuring timely updates and easy accessibility for internal teams.Work closely with traders, operations team, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate contract approval and execution.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify potential risks in contracts, provide guidance on negotiation strategy and risk allocation, and recommend solutions or modifications to mitigate these risks.Assist in preparing reports on transactions and contract completion to provide insights for commercial and management teams.Contribute to process optimization initiatives and recommendations for system enhancements to improve the contract administration and management functions for efficiency and effectiveness.Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree in business, Law, Finance, or a related field.Experience: 3 plus years of experience in the energy commodity sector.Skills & Knowledge:Understanding of contract terms, legal documentation, and industry regulations related to energy commodities.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Experience with ETRM systems is a plus.Other Qualifications:Strong analytical and independent problem-solving skills, with an acute attention to detail.Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of teams and stakeholders.Knowledge of Incoterms, pricing structures, shipping terms, and quality and quantity determination.The Company reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify this job description and any of the responsibilities included herein at any time, for any reason, with or without advance notice.
