Berkot's is seeking Assistant Store Manager applicants for our New Lenox LocationJob Responsibilities:Assistant the Store Manager in the day to day functions of running the store, responsible for opening and closing of the storeHave functional knowledge of all departments within the store; Deli, Bakery, Produce, Meat. Grocery, Front EndProvide quality customer service at all times, handle customer comments and special requestsAssist in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training of all new EmployeesUnderstand and enforce all company policies as it relates to best practices in the Employee HandbookSupervise a team of 3-20 employees store wide at one time, prioritizing tasks and functions for the dayWork with Store Manager for counseling on problems, recommendations for change, and effectiveness on merchandising decisionsUnderstand use and safety on all pieces of machinery and equipmentUphold OSHA safety and Health code Standards in every departmentMake decisions concerning placement of merchandise, pricing, employee scheduling, expense control, store shrink, ordering of products, department operating procedures and sales/ promotion of merchandiseCommunicate to customer, employees, managers and supervisorsRequirements: Ability to stand for 5 hoursability to lift 40 lbsHighschool Diploma or GED2-3 years of grocery experience highly preferredJob Type: Full-timeBenefits:401(k) matchingDental insuranceVision insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time off
