Director of Operations - Mechanical Construction - Power Generation (Simple Cycle & Combined Cycle)We are seeking an experienced Director of Operations to lead and oversee the delivery of large-scale simple cycle and combined cycle power generation projects across the United States.This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence across multiple mechanical construction projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution from pre-construction through commissioning.Key ResponsibilitiesLead operations for mechanical construction projects within gas turbine (simple cycle) and combined cycle power plantsOversee project execution across multiple sites, ensuring delivery on schedule, budget, and quality targetsProvide strategic direction and leadership to Project Managers, Construction Managers, and site teamsDrive EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) performance and a strong safety culture across all projectsManage client relationships with major utilities, EPCs, and developersSupport pre-construction planning, resource allocation, and risk managementEnsure alignment with company objectives, operational standards, and best practicesIdentify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency gains, and cost optimisationRequirementsProven experience in a senior operations leadership role within power generation or heavy industrial constructionStrong background delivering single cycle and/or combined cycle gas turbine projectsDeep understanding of mechanical scopes (e.g. piping, turbines, HRSGs, balance of plant)Track record of managing multiple concurrent projects across geographically dispersed locationsStrong commercial awareness, including contracts, budgeting, and cost controlExceptional leadership and team development skillsWillingness to travelIf this role suits your background and experience, please reach out to Edward Yardley (edward.yardley@) for a confidential call to discuss.
