Preconstruction EstimatorPay: $85k - $95,000/yearLocation: Washington, District of Columbia, DCWork Setting: In-office only with some local field workSchedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (8-hour shift)A commercial construction team is seeking a Preconstruction Estimator to support the Director with bid preparation, subcontractor coordination, and detailed review of construction documents. This is an in-office, client-facing role requiring strong accuracy, communication, and follow-through.Key ResponsibilitiesReview construction drawings, specifications, and bid documentsPerform detailed takeoffs, scope reviews, and bid levelingVerify subcontractor scopes and format bids to meet RFP requirementsPrepare budgets for interior and ground-up projectsBuild and maintain subcontractor lists; issue RFPs and follow up for bid coverageAttend pre-bid walkthroughs and document site conditionsTrack and maintain a log of all pre-bid RFIsSupport project handoff and coordination with internal teams post-awardQualifications2-4 years of relevant experience or a degree in Construction Management (or related field)Strong math and analytical skillsAbility to read and interpret drawings, specs, RFIs, and RFPsKnowledge of building codes and permitting requirementsHighly detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communicationProficient in Bluebeam and Microsoft OfficeExperience with On-Screen Takeoff or Procore is a plusWork EnvironmentIn-office only; polished, client-facing positionLocal job walks required (mileage reimbursement provided)Collaborative, fast-paced preconstruction environment supporting revenue growth
