Join us in shaping the future of functional beverages in our dynamic, forward-thinking environment.Role DescriptionCurrently based in Los AngelesRelocation to Hawaii potentially in the future (Relocation Package Provided)Starting at ~$100,000 (Compensation Based on Experience)Our team is opening a new research laboratory focused on algae-based foods, ocean-derived ingredients, and next-generation functional beverages, and we are seeking a Senior Food Scientist who specializes in beverage systems.This is not a generalist food science role.We are looking for someone with deep expertise in:Beverage formulation (mandatory)Hydrocolloids and stabilizer systemsAlginates / seaweed-derived extracts (strongly preferred)Functional and performance beverage systemsScaling from bench to pilot to commercial productionYou will play a key leadership role in developing innovative marine-based and functional beverage systems, including:Algae-based food and beverage applicationsOcean-derived functional ingredientsAdvanced texture and gel systemsShelf-stable beverage developmentPilot and commercial-scale implementationThis role requires both hands-on lab expertise and high-level formulation strategy.RequirementsDegree in Food Science, Food Engineering, or related fieldSignificant experience specializing in beverages (required)Strong technical understanding of hydrocolloids, especially alginate systemsExperience scaling formulations into productionEntrepreneurial mindset and comfort in a fast-moving innovation environmentCompensationStarting salary is approximately $100,000, with higher compensation available based on experience and expertise.If you are an A-level beverage scientist who wants to work at the intersection of marine science, functional nutrition, and advanced formulation "” we want to hear from you.
