To support continued operational excellence at our Shape LLC site in Addison, IL, we are now looking for a Procurement Manager who combines structure, ownership, and a hands-on mindset with a collaborative approach.This is a hands-on, operational role focused on ensuring reliable material availability, strong supplier partnerships, and cost-effective procurement practices that support production continuity.The successful candidate will be a structured and proactive professional, comfortable managing purchasing workflows, negotiating with suppliers, monitoring inventory, and collaborating closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Finance.Key ResponsibilitiesPurchasing & Material ManagementManage daily purchasing activities, including PO creation, confirmations, follow-up, and delivery trackingEnsure timely availability of raw materials, components, and indirect suppliesMaintain accurate ERP data (pricing, lead times, MOQ, supplier details)Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with Production Planning to avoid shortages or excess stockSupplier ManagementAct as the primary point of contact for suppliersMaintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and identify new sourcing opportunities as neededMonitor supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness)Support resolution of supply disruptions and quality issuesCost Control & NegotiationIdentify and support cost-reduction initiatives through negotiation and improved purchasing termsMonitor price developments, market trends, and BOM cost impactsTrack and report Purchase Price Variance (PPV)Process, Compliance & DocumentationMaintain purchasing records, contracts, certifications, quotations, and supplier filesEnsure compliance with internal procedures and purchasing guidelinesSupport implementation of Kanban or vendor-managed inventory solutions where applicableCross-Functional CollaborationSupport Engineering during NPI activities and RFQ/RFP processesWork closely with Operations to manage demand variability and supply continuityPartner with Finance on invoice discrepancies and supplier payment alignmentCoordinate with Quality on supplier evaluations and corrective actionsPerformance & ReportingTrack and report key procurement KPIs (OTD, inventory levels, MOQ adherence, PPV)Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on lead time reduction and supply stabilityProvide regular updates to the Director of Operations on risks, shortages, and supplier performanceQualifications & SkillsDegree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Procurement, or a related field3-5+ years of experience in purchasing or supply chain roles within a manufacturing environmentSolid understanding of procurement processes and inventory managementProven negotiation skills and working knowledge of contracts and commercial termsStrong communication skills, both written and verbalERP experience required (Sage 500 is a plus)Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and data accuracyHighly organised, dependable, and disciplined in follow-upProfessional, ethical, and results-orientedWhat we offerA hands-on procurement role with real ownership and visible impact on daily manufacturing operationsEmployment in a stable, well-established manufacturing company within a global industrial groupA collaborative site environment, supported by the resources and expertise of the Noratel GroupClose cross-functional cooperation with Production, Engineering, Quality, and FinanceA culture driven by clear values (PACTE), accountability, and continuous improvementCompensation range of $100,000-$120,000, aligned with role scope and experienceHealthcare coverage and a Paid Time Off (PTO) planAt Shape, you'll find the closeness of a local team with the strength of an international group.Here, your work will matter - for our people, for our company, and for the industries we serve.Ready to take ownership of procurement in a hands-on manufacturing environment?
