Position OverviewWe are seeking a senior-level Electrical Engineer to join our Houston team, specializing in the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems within healthcare facilities. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in critical power systems, life safety systems, and advanced healthcare electrical infrastructure that ensures uninterrupted patient care.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement electrical power distribution systems for hospitals, surgical centers, and medical facilitiesDevelop critical power systems including emergency generators, UPS systems, and automatic transfer switchesPlan and oversee installation of life safety systems including nurse call, fire alarm, and security systemsEnsure compliance with NEC Article 517 (Healthcare Facilities), NFPA 70, NFPA 101, and CMS requirementsDesign specialized electrical systems for operating rooms, ICUs, and critical care areas with isolated power systemsImplement advanced building automation and energy management systemsConduct electrical system commissioning, load testing, and performance verificationLead electrical infrastructure upgrades while maintaining 24/7 hospital operationsCollaborate with biomedical engineers on medical equipment electrical requirementsManage electrical safety programs and conduct arc flash studiesPrepare detailed electrical drawings, specifications, and load calculationsMentor junior engineers and coordinate with multidisciplinary project teamsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical EngineeringProfessional Engineer (PE) license requiredMinimum 6 years of experience in electrical engineering with significant healthcare facility focusExpert knowledge of healthcare electrical codes, standards, and best practicesExperience with critical power system design and redundancy planningProficiency in electrical design software (AutoCAD Electrical, SKM, ETAP, Revit MEP)Strong understanding of grounding, bonding, and electrical safety in healthcare environmentsExperience with commissioning and testing of critical electrical systemsExcellent project management and leadership skillsPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Electrical EngineeringNFPA 70E certificationExperience with smart grid technologies and renewable energy integrationKnowledge of cybersecurity for healthcare electrical systemsPrevious work with major hospital systems Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary range based on experience levelComprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision401(k) with generous company matchingProfessional development and continuing education supportFlexible hybrid work optionsPerformance bonuses and profit sharingJoin our team and power the future of healthcare infrastructure while making a meaningful impact on patient safety and care delivery.
