Pharmacy Technician Orlando, FloridaPosition SummaryKelly Government Solutions is seeking qualified Pharmacy Technicians to support Pharmacy Services at the Orlando VA Healthcare System (OVAHCS). Pharmacy services are delivered in a state-of-the-art medical treatment facility, and all duties must be performed in accordance with nationally recognized pharmacy practice standards. The Pharmacy Technician will support licensed pharmacists in providing safe, accurate, and timely medication services to Veterans.The standard of care shall meet or exceed national standards established by:Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) - Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)ORNational Healthcareer Association (NHA) - Certified Pharmacy Technician (ExCPT)Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPharmacy Technicians shall perform duties consistent with their scope of practice and VA policies, including but not limited to:Medication Preparation and DistributionAssist pharmacists in preparing, dispensing, and distributing medications for inpatient and outpatient useAccurately fill medication orders, including unit dose, bulk compounding, and sterile or non-sterile preparations as assignedLabel medications appropriately and ensure proper packaging and storagePrescription ProcessingReceive, review, and interpret medication orders under pharmacist supervisionEnter prescription and patient data into VA pharmacy information systems with a high degree of accuracyResolve basic prescription issues and refer clinical questions to pharmacistsInventory and Supply ManagementMaintain medication inventories, including ordering, receiving, stocking, rotating, and removing expired medicationsAssist with controlled substance accountability in accordance with VA regulationsMaintain pharmacy automation systems (e.g., Pyxis or similar dispensing equipment)Customer and Veteran ServiceProvide courteous, professional service to Veterans, caregivers, and VA staffAnswer basic pharmacy-related questions and direct clinical inquiries to licensed pharmacistsSupport a patient-centered care environment aligned with VA's mission and valuesCompliance and Quality AssuranceAdhere to all VA, federal, state, and facility-specific pharmacy regulations and policiesMaintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and VA privacy requirementsParticipate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and inspections as requiredRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentActive national pharmacy technician certification, one of the following:PTCB - Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)NHA - Certified Pharmacy Technician (ExCPT)Ability to pass all VA background and credentialing requirementsStrong attention to detail and commitment to medication safetyAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environmentPreferred QualificationsPrevious pharmacy technician experience in a hospital, clinic, or government healthcare settingExperience with VA pharmacy systems or electronic health recordsKnowledge of medication safety practices and sterile compounding (if applicable)Work EnvironmentState-of-the-art VA medical facilityCollaborative interdisciplinary healthcare settingMay require standing, walking, lifting pharmacy supplies, and working shifts aligned with pharmacy operationsAbout Kelly Government SolutionsKelly Government Solutions partners with federal agencies to deliver high-quality healthcare and professional services.
