This is a business at genuine scale, with the complexity and technical ambition to match.The RoleAs a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll be a core part of a dynamic, agile engineering team responsible for designing and delivering high-performance, cloud-native applications on AWS. You'll work closely with architects and senior developers, contributing to both technical strategy and hands-on delivery "” with roughly an 80/20 backend/frontend split.Speed to market matters here. You'll be working in a fast-paced environment where quality and velocity go hand in hand.What You'll Be DoingDesigning and building scalable, cloud-native microservices using AWS Serverless, Kubernetes, Docker, Node.js, and TypeScriptWorking with MongoDB and key-value stores for performant data solutionsContributing to technical design of cloud and digital platforms alongside architects and senior engineersEvaluating emerging technologies and developing proof-of-concept solutionsRefactoring and re-architecting existing software where neededBuilding reusable components and driving consolidation across projectsSupporting testing, UAT, deployment, and post-release activitiesManaging bugs, features, and issues through JIRAProducing and reviewing solution blueprints and architecture documentationWhat They're Looking For6-8 years of solid backend development experience building internet-scale web/mobile applications and public APIsStrong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, AWS Serverless, and MongoDBProven experience building microservices and REST APIs with a focus on system designSolid understanding of public cloud (AWS preferred) and both SQL and NoSQLExperience across the full SDLC "” Agile, iterative development, CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitHub/BitBucket, Docker, containers)Strong communicator "” comfortable engaging with both technical teams and business stakeholdersExposure to React, React Native, GraphQL, or Salesforce is a plusBachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related engineering discipline
