McCourt Construction is seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Safety Representative to support and promote a strong safety culture across our construction projects. The Safety Representative will work closely with project teams to ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and industry best practices. This role is hands-on, field-based, and ideal for a safety professional looking to grow within heavy civil construction.A Boston-based diversified General Contractor with a rich history dating back to our founding in 1893, McCourt Construction prides itself on tackling the Northeast's most complex civil projects, with our Heavy Civil Division specializing in large public works projects, and our Energy Division focusing on expanding America's most complex projects in the electric, gas, and steam industries.Duties will include, but are not limited to,Supporting and enforcing McCourt Construction's Safety Program on heavy civil job sitesConducting daily and weekly site safety inspections, hazard assessments, and auditsIdentifying unsafe acts and conditions related to heavy civil work, such as: excavation and trenching, traffic control, and work zones, heavy equipment operations, fall protection, utility installation, and restorationAssisting with Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and toolbox talksMonitoring compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926 and site-specific safety plansParticipating in incident, near-miss, and property damage investigationsMaintaining accurate safety documentation and reportsAssisting with employee, subcontractor, and visitor safety orientationsPartnering with field leadership to implement corrective actions and improve site safetyPromoting a proactive, team-oriented safety cultureApplicants should have the following qualifications,Minimum 2 years of experience in construction safety (heavy civil preferred)Working knowledge of OSHA construction standardsFamiliarity with heavy civil operations and common job site hazardsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently in active construction environmentsProficient with basic computer applicationsMcCourt Construction, a 133-year-old family-owned company, is a growing organization with advancement potential.
