Payroll Manager

Position Overview:We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of payroll operations across a multi-entity organization. This role requires a highly detail-oriented professional with strong knowledge of payroll regulations, multi-state compliance, and union payroll administration. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate, timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with collective bargaining agreements and applicable laws, including prevailing wage requirements.Key Responsibilities:Manage end-to-end payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees across multiple locationsAdminister union payroll, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements, including wages, dues, fringe benefits, and reporting requirementsInterpret and apply union contracts related to pay rates, overtime rules, and benefit contributionsEnsure compliance with prevailing wage laws, including proper wage classifications, fringe allocations, and certified payroll reportingPrepare, review, and submit certified payroll reports in accordance with federal and state regulations (e.g., Davis-Bacon and state prevailing wage laws)Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulationsOversee payroll tax filings, reporting, and reconciliationsCollaborate with HR and Finance teams on employee data, compensation changes, and benefits administrationManage and audit timekeeping systems to ensure accuracy of hours worked and proper codingHandle payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely mannerLead payroll audits and maintain accurate records for internal and external complianceQualifications:5+ years of payroll experience, with direct union payroll experience requiredStrong knowledge of payroll systems, timekeeping platforms, and reporting toolsDeep understanding of collective bargaining agreements and union reporting requirementsExperience with multi-state payroll processing and complianceHigh level of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentialityStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field preferredPreferred Qualifications:Prevailing wage experience highly preferred, including familiarity with Davis-Bacon and state-specific requirementsCertified Payroll Professional (CPP) designationExperience in property management, construction, or related industriesStrong experience preparing and auditing certified payroll reportsWhat Success Looks Like:Accurate and timely payroll processing with zero compliance issuesSeamless administration of union and prevailing wage payroll requirementsStrong internal partnerships with HR and Finance teamsEfficient resolution of payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries
