Overview:We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Technical Writer to support product development teams within a leading global automotive company based in Raymond, OH. This role is responsible for creating clear, structured documentation that defines processes, roles, and responsibilities, helping drive efficiency and consistency across teams.This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced, innovative environment while helping streamline operations and improve knowledge sharing across teams.Key Responsibilities:Partner with product development teams to learn and understand workflows, tools, and processesCreate new technical documentation where none currently existsConvert rough or informal process notes into standardized, structured, and readable documentationCreate and maintain process documentation, including process descriptions, SOPs, test manuals, work steps, and inputs/outputs for key activitiesCapture tacit knowledge from engineers and SMEs and translate it into clear, actionable instructionsIdentify tasks and ownership across teams to clearly define roles and responsibilitiesDevelop training materials to support onboarding and continuous learningReview documentation with stakeholders, incorporate feedback, and obtain approvalsManage and maintain a centralized repository of documentation (primarily in SharePoint)Establish and enforce documentation standards, structure, and best practicesMaintain and update documentation as processes evolveSupport management presentations summarizing documentation progress and activity statusSupport continuous improvement by identifying gaps and proposing process enhancementsRequired Qualifications:3+ years of direct technical writing experience (Bachelor's degree highly preferred)Proven experience developing:Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Process documentationTest manualsTraining or "process know-how" materialsStrong experience with Sharepoint.Demonstrated ability to extract and translate complex technical information from SMEs into clear documentationBasic project management skills, including timeline planning and task prioritizationExperience documenting both software and physical testing processes.Comfortable working with engineers and highly technical stakeholders.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionallyHigh attention to detail with a commitment to quality and accuracyStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independentlySelf-starter with the ability to manage workload and timelines with minimal oversightPreferred Skills:Previous experience in Confluence.Experience with Power Automate or SharePoint workflow.Experience supporting engineering or product development teamsFamiliarity with process mapping or workflow documentationLocation: Raymond, OHOnsite: 4 days per week
