We emphasize cost-effectiveness, superior quality, and reliable availability through optimized operations and strategic partnerships.Position OverviewBare Home is hiring a Principal Demand Planner to fundamentally upgrade how we forecast, plan, and position inventory across a high-SKU, multi-channel eCommerce business. This is not a maintain-the-model role. We are looking for a senior individual contributor who owns the demand signal end-to-end "” someone who will rebuild our forecasting approach, drive forecast accuracy improvements that translate directly into reduced stockouts and healthier inventory, and take the lead on our Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process.Key ResponsibilitiesDemand Forecasting & S&OP OwnershipOwn the end-to-end demand forecasting process across all SKUs, channels, and markets (USA, UK, EU, Canada) "” building short-, mid-, and long-range forecasts that the business can plan and buy against with confidenceLead the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process "” facilitating cross-functional demand-supply alignment meetings, driving consensus between Sales/Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations, and ensuring executive leadership has one integrated view of demandDrive measurable, sustained improvement in forecast accuracy at the SKU, channel, and category level "” owning the metrics, the root-cause analysis, and the corrective actionsPartner with Marketing and Marketplace teams to integrate promotional lifts, new product launches, and seasonal plans into the baseline forecastTranslate demand signals into actionable inventory positioning recommendations that reduce stockouts, lower working capital exposure, and improve channel fill ratesPlanning System Ownership & Process ImprovementOwn the demand planning platform as the system-of-record for forecasting "” configuring, tuning, and continuously optimizing statistical models, safety stock logic, lead times, and replenishment parameters so the system reflects current business realityLead process improvement initiatives across the planning function "” identifying where manual work, tribal knowledge, or spreadsheet workarounds are creating risk, and building scalable system-based solutions in their placeEvaluate, recommend, and help implement planning system enhancements, integrations, and workflow improvements in partnership with the Director of Supply Chain and ITEstablish and maintain documented planning standards, cadences, and exception-management workflows so the function operates predictably and can scale with the businessInventory Positioning & Buying PartnershipTranslate forecasts into clear, defensible buy recommendations "” partnering closely with Purchasing on order quantities, timing, and vendor allocationWork directly with the Inventory & Demand Planning Analyst and the Buyer to ensure purchase orders align with forecasted demand, promotional plans, and inventory health targetsMonitor inventory positions across warehouses and marketplace channels (Amazon FBA/FBM, Walmart, Target, direct-to-consumer) "” flagging over- and under-stock conditions and driving corrective actionCoordinate with overseas sourcing partners in China, India, Pakistan, and Turkey to communicate demand signals, validate lead time assumptions, and surface supply risk earlySupport landed cost modeling, working capital planning, and inventory scenario analysis in partnership with FinanceCross-Functional Leadership & Executive VisibilityServe as the senior planning voice in cross-functional forums "” bringing clarity, a recommendation, and a defensible position, not just a reportPresent forecast performance, inventory position, and S&OP outcomes directly to executive leadership on a recurring cadenceProvide technical direction and mentorship to the Inventory & Demand Planning Analyst; build bench strength and functional capability within the planning disciplineBuild trust-based working relationships with Supply Chain, Purchasing, Warehouse Operations, Marketplace, Marketing, and Finance "” the quality of the forecast depends on the quality of those relationshipsPerform other duties, projects, or responsibilities as assigned by management to support operational needs, business priorities, or organizational initiativesRequired QualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Operations Management, Finance, or a related field6+ years of progressive demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain planning experience, with demonstrated career progression into senior-level responsibilityProven track record of measurably improving forecast accuracy, reducing stockouts, or lowering inventory exposure in a high-SKU, multi-channel environmentDirect experience leading or facilitating S&OP or integrated business planning cyclesExperience configuring, optimizing, or implementing a demand planning software platform "” not just operating oneeCommerce, consumer goods, or retail background with experience managing seasonality, promotional planning, and marketplace fulfillment dynamicsTechnical SkillsHands-on experience with a recognized demand planning platform "” Slimstock, Blue Yonder, o9, Kinaxis, SAP IBP, NetSuite Demand Planning, or equivalent. Experience supporting or leading an implementation is a strong plusStrong SQL proficiency "” writes and executes queries independently to extract, join, and transform data from internal databasesAdvanced Excel: XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Power Query, pivot tables, dynamic models, statistical forecasting methods, and scenario analysisPower BI proficiency "” builds dashboards that give operations and leadership real-time visibility into forecast accuracy, inventory position, and supply chain KPIsWorking knowledge of an ERP system (NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, or equivalent) for inventory, purchasing, and master dataDirect experience with Amazon Seller Central and FBA operations "” restock logic, IPI scores, storage limits, stranded inventory, and replenishment cadenceCore CompetenciesStrong analytical mindset paired with strong business judgment "” translates numbers into decisions, not just observationsConfident, direct communicator "” can defend a forecast in front of executives and influence without authority across functionsProcess-improvement orientation "” sees system and workflow gaps and moves to close them rather than working around themOrganized, self-directed, and accountable in a fast-moving, growth-stage environmentCollaborative and credible with both internal partners and overseas vendorsReliable attendance and punctualityWhat We Offer / Why Go BareCompetitive salary: $105,000 - $145,000 based on experience, technical depth, and demonstrated impact, plus a potential 20% bonus based on company performance.
