The ideal candidate balances supply and demand, ensures material availability, optimizes inventory levels, and delivers actionable insights to improve overall supply chain performance.Day-to-day responsibilitiesBuying & procurementSource, negotiate, and purchase raw materials, components, and finished goods to support production and customer demandCreate, manage, and monitor purchase orders based on production plans, forecasts, and inventory policiesMaintain supplier relationships and monitor performance across lead time, quality, and cost; address supply disruptions as neededEnsure accuracy of vendor records, pricing, lead times, and material master dataCollaborate with accounts payable and suppliers to resolve invoice discrepanciesProduction planningDevelop and maintain production schedules aligned with demand forecasts, orders, material availability, and capacity constraintsRelease and manage work orders to meet customer delivery requirementsCoordinate with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and logistics teams to resolve scheduling or material constraintsMonitor production performance against plan and recommend adjustments as neededSupport new product introductions and engineering changes from a planning and material readiness perspectiveInventory managementEstablish and maintain safety stock, reorder points, and inventory policiesMonitor inventory levels to balance service levels, production needs, and carrying costsIdentify and manage excess, obsolete, or slow-moving inventorySupport cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory accuracy initiativesSupply chain analytics & reportingAnalyze demand, supply, inventory, and production data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunitiesDevelop reports and dashboards covering inventory turns, forecast accuracy, supplier performance, and service levelsProvide data-driven recommendations to improve planning accuracy, reduce costs, and enhance supply reliabilitySupport continuous improvement initiatives across planning, procurement, and supply chain processesSystems, compliance & continuous improvementMaintain data integrity within ERP/MRP systems (SAP, NetSuite, NDS)Support audits and compliance with internal controls and company policiesParticipate in process improvement and cost-reduction initiatives across the supply chainDocument planning and procurement procedures as neededRequirementsMust-havesBachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field preferred3-6 years of experience in buying, production planning, or supply chain analysisStrong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and demand planning conceptsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (analysis, reporting, pivot tables)Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skillsHighly detail-oriented with comfort working across procurement, manufacturing, and planning functionsNice-to-havesExperience in a manufacturing or distribution environmentKnowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologiesExperience managing complex BOMs or multi-site supply chains
