Project Developer - Utility-Scale Solar & BESS

OverviewA leading renewable energy developer is seeking a Project Developer to drive the full lifecycle development of utility-scale solar and battery energy storage (BESS) projects across the US.This is a hands on, deal driven role where you will take ownership of projects from early stage origination through to Ready-to-Build (RTB), Notice to Proceed (NTP), and into construction. You'll be working at the center of development - managing land, interconnection, permitting, and commercial strategy to deliver bankable projects.This opportunity is ideal for a developer who wants real ownership, strong deal exposure, and the ability to directly impact project outcomes within a growing pipeline.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the end-to-end development of utility-scale solar and BESS projects from greenfield through RTB, NTP, and into constructionIdentify and advance new project opportunities through market analysis, transmission constraints, and policy driversStructure and negotiate land agreements, including leases, options, easements, and purchase agreementsDevelop and execute interconnection strategy, including managing queue positions, system impact studies, and utility engagementDrive permitting efforts across local, state, and federal jurisdictions, including environmental studies and approvalsLead community and stakeholder engagement, including landowners, local authorities, and public meetingsManage development budgets, schedules, risk registers, and milestone trackingCoordinate cross-functionally with engineering, EPC, procurement, and construction teams to ensure project viabilitySupport project finance processes, including tax equity, debt financing, and diligence requirementsPartner with commercial and origination teams on offtake strategy, including PPAs, tolling, and merchant exposureManage external consultants across environmental, engineering, legal, and permitting workstreamsRequirements4 - 8+ years of experience in renewable energy project development, with a strong focus on solar and/or BESSProven track record advancing utility-scale projects to RTB, NTP, or constructionStrong understanding of US power markets and interconnection processes (ERCOT experience highly relevant)Experience negotiating land agreements and managing landowner relationshipsFamiliarity with permitting processes and regulatory frameworks across multiple jurisdictionsStrong commercial and financial understanding, including exposure to project finance structuresExcellent stakeholder management and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple projects in parallel in a fast-paced, execution-focused environmentWillingness to travel as required to support project development activitiesWhy This OpportunityOwn and drive utility-scale solar and BESS projects from origination through executionWork within the ERCOT and broader US markets on high-impact, grid-scale assetsJoin a developer with a strong pipeline and active project flowGain exposure to all aspects of development, including interconnection, permitting, and financingOperate in a role with real autonomy, responsibility, and decision-making influenceClear progression into senior development or leadership roles as the platform grows
