Assistant Video EditorMonday-Friday, ~40 hrs/week Onsite in Long Beach, CA $35/hr (W2, eligible for overtime + benefits) Start within 2 weeks preferred Ongoing contract workAbout the RoleWe're looking for a detail-oriented Assistant Editor to support the post-production team in creating high-quality video content across short-form (30 seconds to 3 minutes) and longer-form projects for presentations and events.This role is ideal for someone early in their editing career who has strong technical fundamentals and an interest in documentary-style storytelling. You'll play a key role in organizing footage, prepping projects, and supporting editors in bringing stories to life.What You'll DoAssist editors with project setup, media organization, and file managementIngest, label, and organize large volumes of raw footageBuild stringouts, selects, and rough assemblies based on briefs or editor directionSupport edits across interviews, talking heads, scripted content, and b-rollHandle basic cuts, trims, and versioning for internal and external reviewPrep timelines for color, sound, and finishingExport deliverables and ensure proper formatting across platformsMaintain organized project files and adhere to post-production workflowsWhat We're Looking For1-3 years of video editing or assistant editing experienceProficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro (After Effects a plus)Strong organizational skills and attention to detailFamiliarity with post-production workflows and media managementAbility to take direction and collaborate closely with editors and producersInterest in documentary-style storytelling and content creationComfortable working onsite in Long Beach and managing multiple projectsDetailsFreelance contract, ~3 months with potential to extend Onsite in Long Beach, CA
