2026 Manufacturing Engineer InternDepartment: EngineeringEmployment Type: Full-Time Internship (Onsite)Position SummaryTherma-Stor is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer Intern to support manufacturing operations, process improvement initiatives, and engineering projects across Therma-Stor. This role provides hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting and exposure to real-world problem-solving, lean principles, CAD applications, and continuous improvement within a technology-driven organization.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in analyzing and documenting current manufacturing processes and workflowsSupport development and improvement of work instructions, standard operating procedures, and process documentationParticipate in identifying opportunities for efficiency, quality, and safety improvementsContinuous Improvement & Lean InitiativesSupport 5S initiatives, and other continuous improvement activitiesCollect and analyze production data to help identify waste, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunitiesAssist with implementing process changes and monitoring resultsEngineering, CAD & Technical SupportAssist manufacturing engineers with tooling, fixture, and equipment evaluationsCreate or update CAD models, layouts, and drawings to support manufacturing improvements and projectsSupport production line layout changes and workstation design using CAD toolsAssist with troubleshooting production issues related to quality, throughput, ergonomics, or designQuality & DocumentationAssist with quality inspections, audits, and data collection as neededHelp maintain engineering documentation, drawings, and change recordsSupport cross-functional efforts to improve product quality and consistencyProject SupportAssist with engineering projects including layout improvements, equipment upgrades, and new product introductionsTrack action items, timelines, and deliverables related to assigned projectsCollaborate with operations, quality, and engineering teams on day-to-day initiativesQualificationsCurrently pursuing a degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related fieldStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environmentEffective written and verbal communication skillsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsPreferred Skills Familiarity with CAD software (such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, or similar)Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement conceptsBasic knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, or production equipmentExperience with data analysis tools (Excel, Minitab, or similar)Ability to read and interpret technical drawingsCuriosity, initiative, and willingness to learn on the shop floor
