Job Summary/CompanySparks Group has partnered with a small, mission-driven credit union in Washington, DC to hire an Assistant Vice President of Operations to join its leadership team. This is a hands-on, on-site role for an operations professional who is comfortable overseeing branch activity, supporting staff and members, and collaborating with senior leadership to maintain strong daily operations.ResponsibilitiesDaily Branch & Operations SupportEnsure the branch is fully staffed, prepared, and ready to serve members each dayActively assist with teller transactions, member services, and lending support as neededOversee daily balancing, cash controls, adjustments, and transaction accuracyAddress and resolve member questions or escalations promptly and professionallyStaff Leadership & Team SupportSupervise and support branch staff in a small-team environmentProvide hands-on training, coaching, and daily guidanceConduct regular check-ins and performance discussionsFoster a positive, service-driven, and accountable workplace cultureLending AssistanceOriginate, review, and approve loans within established lending authorityEnsure proper loan documentation, underwriting, and compliance with policyAssist members with loan inquiries, servicing issues, and problem resolutionCompliance, Audits & ControlsSupport NCUA exams, audits, and operational reviewsConduct or coordinate teller audits and quality-control checksEnsure disclosures, rates, and operational documentation remain accurate and currentOperations & Process ImprovementMonitor branch workflows and identify opportunities for improvementCoordinate with vendors and internal partners to support systems and equipmentAssist executive leadership with special projects and operational initiativesQualifications/Background Profile3-5+ years of experience in credit union or banking operationsPrior supervisory or team leadership experienceComfortable working in a hands-on, operational roleExperience with Symitar or EPISYS core systemsStrong understanding of teller operations, lending processes, and branch controlsFamiliarity with regulatory requirements, audits, and operational complianceStrong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skillsThis job is In-Person.Pay Range: Salary $75,000.00 to $85,000.00We offer several comprehensive benefits package including health and life insurance, paid and unpaid time off, and retirement and savings plans to qualifying employees.Download the Sparks Group mobile app from Apple App Store or Google PlaySparks Group is an equal opportunity employer.
