The Formulation Support Specialist - Ingredient Sourcing provides operational and technical support to the Formulation team by coordinating new ingredient requests with suppliers. This role ensures accurate collection of technical, regulatory, quality, and commercial documentation required for formulation development, regulatory compliance, and supplier approval. The position plays a key role in enabling efficient formulation development while maintaining compliance with internal quality systems and regulatory requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesIngredient Request & Supplier CoordinationSupport the Formulation team in requesting new raw materials and ingredients from approved and prospective suppliersServe as the main point of contact with suppliers for ingredient-related inquiriesTrack and follow up on ingredient requests to ensure timely responsesDocumentation & Data CollectionRequest, receive, organize, and maintain supplier documentation, including but not limited to:Technical Data Sheets (TDS)Certificates of Analysis (COA)Safety Data Sheets (SDS/MSDS)Allergen statementsCountry of origin statementsGMO, vegan/vegetarian, and sustainability certificationsRegulatory compliance statements (FDA, USP, EP, food grade, supplement grade, etc.)Ensure all documents meet internal quality and compliance standardsCross-Functional SupportCollaborate closely with Formulation, Quality, Regulatory, Procurement, and Operations teamsSupport ingredient qualification and internal review processesCommunicate ingredient status updates clearly to internal stakeholdersData Management & TrackingMaintain accurate records in internal databases, ERP systems, or shared foldersTrack ingredient request status, supplier responses, and documentation completenessAssist with updating ingredient master data as neededContinuous ImprovementIdentify opportunities to streamline ingredient request and documentation workflowsSupport audit readiness by maintaining organized and traceable ingredient recordsParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives related to supplier and ingredient managementQualificationsAssociate or bachelor's degree in food science, Chemistry, Biology, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience in formulation support, regulatory, or ingredient sourcing will be considered.
