Our clients span a variety of verticals, including professional and collegiate sports, nonprofits, retail, agriculture, homebuilding, and others.Intrepid Marketing Group is currently seeking a qualified candidate located in the Triangle to join us! The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, a problem-solver, passionate about public relations, communications, and social media, and thrives in a fun, fast-paced team environment. The ideal candidate must also be a strong writer, verbal communicator, show initiative and leadership skills and work well under deadlines and in front of people.Responsibilities:Develop and execute comprehensive annual and project PR plans that support client marketing and business objectives by maximizing client coverage with target media/influencers. Measure, analyze, and report on each plan's successMaintain trusted client relationships, including serving as day-to-day client lead on multiple accountsWrite and distribute press releases, media alerts, ghostwritten thought leadership articles, blog posts, etc.Regularly update clients and management on media wins and impact Develop and maintain relationships with local, regional, and national media contactsBrainstorm and develop innovative methods of achieving client goalsKeep a detailed list of tasks, client status reports, media hits, etc.Develop, manage, and track social media campaigns for clientsCreate quarterly client reportsOccasionally develop social media content for clients. Identify and secure social media influencer participation for certain projects and events.Assist in organizing and managing media events for clients' key milestones or industry eventsParticipate in new business processes (market research and competitive landscape analysis) and client pitchesTake on additional projects that are PR-adjacent as needed.Requirements:Four-year degree in journalism, communications or a related field2 to 4 years of previous experience in a public relations and media relations roleWorking knowledge of the mass media and the ability to write and pitch news-related storiesPassion and enthusiasm for working in the communications industryA detailed, organized, self-starter with great interpersonal skillsWorking knowledge of the social media landscape and how to utilize social media tools to advance marketing platformsKnowledge of managing brand social media accounts Strong writing, organizational, public speaking, and leadership skillsExperience with public relations media database software (Muck Rack preferred) a plusKnowledge of local, regional, and national media markets as well as a robust list of contacts is a plusCreative thinker, self-starter, and highly motivatedDesign skills including graphic design, video and audio editing a plusWillingness to shoulder additional responsibilities that are requested by Intrepid Marketing Group as neededOther Items:100% Remote but located in the Raleigh/Durham areaSome on-site or in-person meetings are expectedMinimal travel401K and health benefits3 Weeks paid vacation, in addition to paid holidays
