Scope of Position: Business professional that can provide superior global logistics and trade compliance services to our clients, in addition to strong financial, operational, and leadership skills necessary to ensure World Class serviceMajor Duties and Responsibilities: Operations and Customer ServiceFully understand and properly monitor all operational aspects of the Import Transportation department. This includes meeting internal metrics, external customer KPIs, and operational process standardsSet the standard for outstanding customer service and ensure that all client expectations are met according to the KPIs outlined in customer Standard Operating ProceduresInnovate and embrace a culture of constant improvementFinance Assist the product manager and accounting staff with collections (A/R), payables, (A/P), BNP, and reservesWork with accounting team to ensure billing accuracy and timelinessEnsure transactions are conducted in compliance with revenue recognition requirementsComplianceWork with compliance staff and Customs Brokerage team to ensure import transportation activity is in compliance with company policies and standardsEnsure complete compliance with Federal Maritime Commission laws and regulationsResolve all compliance discrepancies, errors, reviews, and corrections within the metric requirementsBusiness Development and ProfitabilityWork with product manager to ensure operational standards and customer service is at a premium in the marketplaceAssist with quoting and bid responses where necessaryEnsure departmental activities are profitable and in accordance with budget requirementsParticipate in customer facing sales and retention opportunitiesTransition and RetentionWork with Sales Team, Product Manager, and Customer Retention team to facilitate a proper client onboarding process.Ensure customer SOPs are up to date and frequently referenced by staffUnderstand and execute according to customer's KPIsDevelop customer equity through relationship building with key accountsPersonal Development:Responsible for working with the product manager to create a culture of continuous employee development, including the completion of the training requirement by all employeesMentor and train all agents to prepare them for the next step in their careersActively pursue industry certification: IATA/FIATA, Customs Broker License, etcQualifications, Experience and Education RequirementsCustomer first, Team Second, Me third mentalityMinimum two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceEffective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive resultsExcellent communication and leadership skills, as well as the ability to motivate, delegate, and inspireAdvanced knowledge and understanding of import compliance laws and regulations, as well as international transportation Pro-active, strong organizational skillsGood computer skills (Excel, Word)Fluent in EnglishReporting StructureManager, Import Services
