Clayton Services is searching for a Purchasing Specialist to join a growing company in Houston. The Purchasing Specialist will be responsible for managing vendor relationships, sourcing materials, and ensuring timely procurement to support ongoing operations.Job Type: Temp-to-HirePay Rate: $28.00-$31.25/hourBenefits: Excellent benefits available after the successful completion of the temporary period, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and more.Purchasing Specialist Responsibilities:Source and procure materials, components, and supplies to support production and operational needsBuild and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure competitive pricing and reliable deliveryNegotiate pricing, terms, and lead times with suppliersCreate and manage purchase orders while ensuring accuracy and timelinessMonitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to avoid shortages or overstockCollaborate with internal teams to understand material requirements and project timelinesReview purchase requests and confirm alignment with specifications and operational needsTrack orders, resolve discrepancies, and address shipping or invoicing issuesMaintain accurate vendor records and purchasing documentationAssist with reviewing vendor statements and resolving account discrepanciesOther duties as assignedPurchasing Specialist Skills and Abilities:Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable termsExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesEffective communication skills for working with vendors and internal teamsProficiency in Microsoft Office, especially ExcelPurchasing Specialist Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent required2+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience requiredExperience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferredPurchasing Specialist Immediate need.
