As a Lab Technician Intern, you'll gain real-world, hands-on experience in a fast-paced technical environment"”working alongside experienced professionals, contributing to live projects, and building skills that directly translate to a future career in materials science, chemistry, or engineering.This is an excellent opportunity for a curious, motivated student who wants to learn by doing, develop technical skills, and explore what a career in applied materials testing looks like in an industrial setting.Responsibilities Get hands-on experience analyzing materials for product qualification, new product development, and technical supportSupport lab trials and production floor testing, including sample collection and inspections Assist with CTQs, data collection, and test execution for active projects Help develop and follow test plans, completing required testing from start to finish Collect, organize, and analyze data "” then translate results into clear, meaningful insightsPerform drawdowns and material testing as needed Build knowledge of release liners, tapes, and industrial materials through practical lab work Collaborate with Quality, Operations, and Customer Service teams to solve real-world challenges Contribute ideas for equipment improvements and lab capability enhancementsTest materials against established specifications and help make data-driven recommendationsAssist with generating Technical Data Sheets (TDS) when requested Present data to both technical and non-technical audiences Take ownership of standard lab functions such as: Sample and test panel preparationPerformance testing and data entryLab organization and maintenanceObserving production processes and collecting in-process samplesRequired (or Currently Working Toward):Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, or a related technical fieldComfort working in a laboratory environmentBasic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and WordStrong organization and time-management skillsAbility to communicate clearly and work well in a teamCuriosity, problem-solving mindset, and willingness to learnAbility to work independently with guidance and mentorshipSelf-starter motivated to identify and implement laboratories and process improvementsGood problem-solving abilities Nice to Have (But Not Required):Exposure to analytical chemistry or polymer scienceInterest or experience with tapes, pressure-sensitive adhesives, or materials testingFamiliarity with manufacturing or technical service environmentsAwareness of PSTC or ASTM testing methodsPrevious experience with new product introduction and scale-up Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
