A global industrial organization is seeking a Director of Talent Acquisition to lead U.S. recruiting operations and help build the next generation of the company's global hiring capability.This role is designed for a hands-on talent acquisition leader who can operate at both strategic and execution levels. The Director will strengthen recruiting infrastructure, develop the internal team, and create a scalable hiring model that supports a growing, multinational business.The position is based four days per week onsite in Downers Grove, Illinois, with one day per week remote and additional flexibility as needed.The OpportunityThe Director of Talent Acquisition will take ownership of the U.S. recruiting function while helping connect talent practices across a global footprint.The environment includes a mix of corporate, field, and manufacturing hiring, requiring a leader who can move comfortably between operational recruiting execution and enterprise-level talent strategy.This individual will work closely with HR leadership and business leaders to improve hiring outcomes, enhance the candidate experience, and build a more disciplined recruiting engine across the organization.Key Responsibilities:Lead and Develop the U.S. Recruiting FunctionLead U.S. talent acquisition operations and manage a team currently consisting of two recruiters, with additional growth anticipated.Operate as a working leader, personally executing select full-cycle searches while coaching and developing the recruiting team.Establish clear recruiting standards, processes, and service levels across U.S. locations.Strengthen the Talent Acquisition Operating ModelOversee full lifecycle recruiting including sourcing strategy, candidate assessment, offer management, and workforce planning support.Improve recruiting infrastructure including dashboards, reporting, and pipeline development.Introduce scalable processes that support consistent hiring outcomes across multiple business units and locations.Drive improvements in candidate experience and hiring manager engagement.Reduce External DependencyBuild stronger internal sourcing capabilities and recruiting workflows to reduce agency spend.Introduce modern sourcing techniques and recruiting technologies to expand internal talent pipelines.Improve Onboarding and Hiring Manager EffectivenessPartner with HR to strengthen onboarding practices and ensure consistent processes across sites.Support hiring managers through structured interview frameworks, training, and hiring best practices.Global CollaborationWhile the initial priority is strengthening U.S. recruiting operations, this role will also support the company's broader global hiring efforts.Responsibilities may include:Advising international recruiting teams on process design, candidate assessment, and recruiting best practices.Supporting the development and onboarding of recruiters across the company's global footprint.Helping align recruiting tools, processes, and reporting across multiple regions.Qualifications include:Bachelor's degree required.Approximately 10+ years of progressive talent acquisition experience, including team leadership.Experience building and improving recruiting processes within complex organizations.Strong knowledge of modern sourcing tools, applicant tracking systems, and recruiting analytics.Ability to partner effectively with senior leaders and hiring managers across multiple functions.Experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, or technical hiring environments is highly valuable.
