HR DirectorChicago, IL 60622 | 100% On-SiteSalary: $140,000-$160,000 baseWe are partnering with a growing healthcare organization in Chicago to identify an experienced HR Director. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role supporting a hospital-based environment with a strong, involved executive team.Hospital / healthcare HR experience is required.The OpportunityThis role will lead and develop a large HR team (6+ direct reports) while serving as a strategic partner to the CEO and senior leadership. The ideal candidate brings deep healthcare HR expertise, strong executive presence, and the confidence to make decisions and lead change in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic and hands-on HR leadership across the organizationLead, mentor, and develop a large HR team (6+ direct reports)Ensure full compliance with state and federal employment laws (healthcare-focused)Oversee and guide:HR compliance and risk mitigationEmployee relations, including documentation and disciplinary actionsLeadership training, coaching, and development for a large leadership populationBenefits strategy, vendor negotiations, and recommendationsRetention and engagement strategiesPayroll oversight (strategic leadership without direct administration)Partner closely with the CEO and executive leadership, operating comfortably in a highly visible environmentLead HR initiatives with confidence, sound judgment, and a bias toward actionQualificationsRequired: Hospital / healthcare HR background5+ years of HR Director-level experienceProven experience leading large HR teams (6+ direct reports)Strong HR generalist background with hands-on leadership experienceDeep knowledge of:HR complianceState & federal employment lawsEmployee relationsBenefits strategy and administrationTraining, coaching, and leadership developmentExperience with UKG HRIS and Payroll strongly preferredExceptional executive communication skills; ability to influence and partner with senior leadershipComfortable working 100% on-site in a leadership roleCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive base salary: $140,000-$160,000Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with employer contributionPaid time off and paid holidaysCompany-paid life and disability insuranceAdditional benefits and wellness programsEqual Opportunity Employer.
