OverviewHippo Harvest is building the next generation of sustainable greenhouse farming by combining hydroponics, robotics, and machine intelligence. Our systems use 90% less water, reduce waste, eliminate fertilizer runoff, and enable fresh produce to be grown locally year-round. We're now scaling toward a 35 acre commercial deployment utilizing 100s of robots, transforming how food is grown in a changing climate.We're seeking a SeniorHardware Technician to help develop our robotics and automation systems. You will help assemble and repair robotic and automation systems, fabricate prototype components and help manage our inventory of components.You WillFabricate and assemble prototype assemblies using sheet metal laser cutting, welding, bending, 3d printing, drill press and other shop tools.Manage an inventory of parts and assemblies. Perform inventory audits and ensure minimum stock levels are maintained.Operate hand and power tools for repair and maintenance tasks.Conduct electrical system troubleshooting and cable harness assembly.Calibrate and adjust machinery settings for optimal performance.Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.You HaveExperience with a variety of mechanical and electrical tools and equipment.Familiarity with industrial safety standards.Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Good communication and teamwork abilities.Ability to perform precision tasks with a high degree of accuracy.High school diploma or GED.Technical training or apprenticeship in a relevant field.Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Technician or similar role.Proficiency in reading assembly drawings and technical manuals.Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Physical stamina to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects.Nice to HaveFamiliarity with embedded software (Arduino and related microcontrollers).Familiarity with industrial automation controllers.We OfferMission-driven work that directly advances sustainable agriculture.On-Site Work: 5 days/week on-site in Pescadero.Competitive hourly wage: $40-55/hr, depending on experience.
