This is a high-impact contract opportunity for someone who brings strong technical recruiting fundamentals, sharp candidate judgment, and experience operating in a selective, high-bar hiring environment.This team is prioritizing quality over speed and is looking for a sourcer who can go beyond surface-level sourcing to identify strong technical talent, spot funnel issues, and provide thoughtful, well-calibrated candidate recommendations.What You'll Be DoingSource and assess technical talent across engineering domains such as platform, infrastructure, security, safety, and related technical functionsEvaluate candidates based on technical depth, career progression, scope of impact, and overall alignment to highly selective hiring standardsDistinguish strong technical talent by understanding domain differences, technical stacks, and hiring patternsIdentify red flags such as inflated titles, inconsistent leveling, frequent job changes, or weak progressionAssess candidate motivations, career transitions, and reasons for leaving past rolesProvide high-quality candidate recommendations with clear rationale and strong calibrationPartner with recruiters and hiring stakeholders to improve targeting and reduce wasted interview cyclesIdentify funnel breakdowns and recommend ways to improve process quality and efficiencyMaintain accurate notes, decisions, and structured candidate data in ATS tools such as AshbySupport a thoughtful, evidence-based hiring process in a fast-moving environmentWhat They're Looking For2 to 5+ years of experience in technical sourcing or technical recruitingRecent experience supporting technical hiring within the last 2 years is criticalStrong preference for candidates who were formerly full-time technical sourcers, even if currently on contractExperience supporting engineering and technical hiring across multiple domainsStrong understanding of technical recruiting fundamentals, including engineering teams, technical stacks, and hiring loopsAbility to assess technical talent without relying entirely on recruiters or hiring managers for interpretationStrong calibration, judgment, and pattern recognitionExperience in high-bar, highly selective, or hypergrowth hiring environmentsStrong written communication, documentation, and ATS disciplineExperience with Ashby, Gem, or similar recruiting tools is a plusIdeal BackgroundFormer full-time Technical Sourcer at a top technology companyStrong recent experience supporting technical hiring across engineering, infrastructure, security, or similar domainsAnalytical, proactive, detail-oriented, and confident in challenging process gaps when neededComfortable navigating complex and highly selective hiring environments
