Role OverviewMackenzie Stuart is currently partnered with an Ophthalmology group that are searching for a Director of Nursing. The Director oversees all clinical operations of the facility, ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. This role partners closely with the Medical Director and Governing Body to manage nursing services, staffing, scheduling, quality, risk, safety, and compliance across the center.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical & Operational LeadershipDirect and supervise nursing care across all clinical areasCoordinate patient care, surgical scheduling, and physician block utilizationEnsure adherence to clinical standards, policies, and licensing/accreditation requirementsAct as liaison between clinical staff, physicians, administration, and governing bodiesSupport and participate in patient care as neededStaffing & Human ResourcesLead hiring, onboarding, performance management, and staff developmentMaintain licensure, certifications, training, and personnel documentationDevelop and manage staffing plans and schedules in alignment with surgical volumePromote a positive, accountable, and professional clinical cultureQuality, Compliance & RiskServe as Compliance Officer, Quality (QAPI) Coordinator, Risk Manager, Safety/OSHA Officer, and Privacy OfficerDevelop, implement, and oversee programs related to quality improvement, compliance, safety, risk management, HIPAA, and infection controlEnsure compliance with state, federal, CMS, OSHA, and accrediting-body regulationsLead incident reporting, root cause analysis, and performance-improvement initiativesReport findings and recommendations to leadership and Governing BodyFinancial & Materials ManagementShare responsibility for clinical services' fiscal performanceOversee supply chain, inventory management, pharmaceuticals, and equipmentDrive cost containment, waste reduction, and efficient resource utilizationApprove invoices and monitor supply and labor costsPhysician Credentialing & Contracted ServicesOversee physician and allied health credentialing, privileging, and peer reviewEnsure providers practice within approved privilegesManage contracted clinical and facility services (e.g., pathology, housekeeping, equipment maintenance)Maintain documentation and address service deficienciesQualificationsRequiredActive, unencumbered RN license (Colorado)Associate's degree in NursingMinimum 2 years perioperative experienceBLS and ACLS certification (within 30 days of hire)Strong leadership, ethical judgment, and communication skillsPreferredBSN or MSN; healthcare administration degreeASC leadership experiencePALS certificationStrong computer literacy (EHRs, Microsoft Office)Personal AttributesProfessional, tactful, and composed under pressureStrong problem-solving and accountability mindsetTeam-oriented, dependable, and flexibleReporting StructureReports to: Medical Director and Governing BodySupervises: All employed and contracted clinical staff of the Center
