LHH is seeking a highly motivated Automation Engineer to support and enhance production operations for our client. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical professional who thrives at the intersection of design, programming, and on-site implementation. The successful candidate will play a key role in improving productivity, quality, and reliability across manufacturing processes. The anticipated salary for this role is between $100,000-$130,000 a year.Responsibilities:Develop and implement automated systems, controls, and processes to reduce manual effort and increase operational efficiency.Configure and program PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and robotic systems to support manufacturing operations.Diagnose and resolve issues with automated equipment, sensors, and control systems to minimize downtime.Lead automation projects from concept through commissioning, including coordination with vendors, scheduling, and budget oversight.Evaluate production workflows, identify opportunities for automation, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.Verify that all systems adhere to relevant safety regulations as well as internal company requirements.Develop and keep comprehensive records, including system designs, electrical schematics, testing protocols, and operational guidelines.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.3-5 years of experience in automation engineering, controls engineering, or robotics within a manufacturing environment preferred.Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritiesEffective communication and collaboration skillsStrong problem-solving and analytical abilitiesExperience with industrial automation tools and control systemsBenefits:Medical, Dental and Vision401(k)3 weeks of PTOPaid sick leave where applicable by state lawWork-life balanceCareer developmentEqual Opportunity Employer/Veterans/DisabledTo read our Candidate Privacy Information Statement, which explains how we will use your information, please navigate to Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and/or security clearance requirements, including, as applicable:• The California Fair Chance Act• Los Angeles City Fair Chance Ordinance• Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers• San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance
