Staff Engineer - Electromechanical Product DevelopmentWe are seeking a highly experienced Staff Engineer to lead technical innovation, product development, and cross-functional collaboration for next-generation electromechanical products. This role is ideal for an engineer with deep mechanical/electrical expertise who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys driving design excellence from concept through launch.Onsite in Columbia SC areaAs a key technical leader, the Staff Engineer will guide research, development, testing, and manufacturing readiness for new and existing products. You will serve as a Subject Matter Expert on electromechanical devices, motors, and batteries, while influencing cost, quality, reliability, and schedule outcomes across multiple product lines.Key ResponsibilitiesLead electromechanical design, battery optimization, and product testingDrive major new product development initiatives from concept to launchManage cost, quality, and schedule deliverables for NPD, quality improvement, and cost-reduction effortsCollaborate globally with engineering, supply chain, and project management teamsConduct and facilitate technical design reviews and work closely with suppliers on design-for-manufacturabilityTroubleshoot and optimize designs with domestic and international teamsSupport manufacturing processes through DFM/DFA guidance and cross-functional inputQualificationsB.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited)7+ years of experience in electromechanical product design and manufacturingStrong analytical abilities and judgment in mechanical/structural designProficiency with CREO (preferred), SolidWorks, or NXWorking knowledge of key manufacturing processes: injection molding, machining, casting, forging, heat treatment, powder coating, etc.Experience with DFMEA, PFMEA, DFM/DFA, PPAP, DVP&R, and problem-solving methodologiesExcellent communication skills and experience working cross-functionally across global teamsExperience with power tools or similar products preferred.
