Job Title: Contract Specialist (IT Procurement) - ContractLocation: Austin, TX Duration: April 2026 - March 2027Compensation: $33.50/hourSchedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours/weekAbout the RoleA public sector organization is seeking an experienced Contract Specialist to support IT procurement initiatives. This role will focus heavily on developing competitive solicitations and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliant, high-quality procurement processes.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and draft competitive solicitation documents (e.g., IFBs, RFPs) for IT-related procurementsCollaborate with internal stakeholders to gather technical requirements, specifications, and project objectivesTranslate business and technical needs into clear, structured, and compliant procurement documentsEnsure all solicitations align with applicable procurement laws, policies, and best practicesDefine evaluation criteria, scoring methodologies, and administrative requirementsCoordinate with legal, IT, finance, and procurement teams to finalize solicitation documentsManage Q&A processes and prepare solicitation addenda as neededSupport the evaluation of vendor responses for compliance and responsivenessMaintain organized procurement documentation and audit-ready recordsAssist with procurement timelines, project tracking, and post-award kickoff activitiesQualificationsBachelor's degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience)Minimum 3 years of experience developing procurement documents (IFBs, RFPs, RFIs, etc.)Experience drafting scopes of work, SLAs, performance metrics, and deliverablesStrong stakeholder engagement and requirements-gathering experienceAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a structured environmentExcellent written communication and document development skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience with IT procurement (software, cloud services, infrastructure, etc.)Background in public sector or regulated procurement environmentsFamiliarity with government procurement laws, rules, and compliance requirementsRelevant certifications (e.g., Certified Texas Contract Manager or Contract Developer)
