Job Title: Purchaser IV (Contract)Location: Austin, TX (Onsite)Duration: July 2026 - October 2026Compensation: $26.50/hourSchedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week (flexible within business hours)About the RoleA public sector organization is seeking an experienced procurement professional to support purchasing operations during a critical system implementation period. This role will focus on purchase order processing, vendor coordination, and procurement compliance within a structured, high-volume environment.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport purchasing operations, including data entry and maintenance within procurement systemsCoordinate the preparation, review, tracking, and processing of purchase ordersReview bids and purchase orders for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to specificationsEvaluate vendor responses and assist in identifying best-value procurement optionsCollaborate with internal departments and vendors to facilitate procurement activitiesMaintain procurement records, reports, and documentation to ensure compliance and audit readinessAssist in monitoring applicable procurement laws, rules, and regulatory requirementsSupport quote solicitation processes and vendor communicationsContribute to required reporting and documentation related to procurement activitiesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)Minimum 3 years of procurement/purchasing experience (public or private sector)At least 2 years of experience working with State of Texas procurement processes and contractsHands-on experience with CAPPS (Centralized Accounting and Payroll/Personnel System)Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume transactional workSolid understanding of procurement compliance, documentation, and reportingProficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word)Strong communication and organizational skillsWork Environment & Additional DetailsFully onsite role in an office settingStandard business hours with some flexibilityNo access to personal health or sensitive personal data
