Head of Civil Engineering

Job Description We are seeking an experienced professional to lead a Site/Civil team as a Division Manager and oversee multi-discipline site design projects on a full-time basis in either Raleigh or Charlotte, NC. This individual will play a key leadership role across a range of private and public site development projects throughout the region.Primary Responsibilities:Manage and lead a team of engineers and designersDevelop and maintain strong client relationshipsOversee all aspects of project delivery and serve as the primary client interface, including presentations to clients and municipalities as neededPrepare budgets, proposals, and support business development effortsSupervise and perform site development and design tasks including plan preparation, grading, permitting, and technical report writingLead stormwater management design efforts, including Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H) modeling and Erosion & Sediment Control (E&SC) planningCoordinate with regulatory agencies and manage entitlement processesAssist with RFQ/RFP responsesMentor junior staff and support team developmentProvide quality control review of designs and reportsAdditional responsibilities as neededBasic Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related fieldLicensed Professional Engineer (PE) in North Carolina (or ability to obtain)Proven experience managing staff, clients, and projectsStrong verbal and written communication skillsPreferred Qualifications:Proficiency with engineering design tools (AutoCAD Civil 3D strongly preferred)Experience with stormwater design and H&H modelingFamiliarity with North Carolina permitting and regulatory processesStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and standard business toolsAbility to manage multiple projects while maintaining a big-picture perspectiveCollaborative team player with strong independent problem-solving skills
