This role plays a key part in ensuring researchers have timely access to essential materials while maintaining accurate, safe, and well?organized inventory operations.Job DescriptionAs an Inventory Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting three non-chemical stockrooms on a research campus. This position focuses on maintaining appropriate inventory levels, fulfilling internal orders, and ensuring stockrooms remain clean, safe, and fully operational.Key Responsibilities IncludePulling and assembling orders based on stockroom and researcher needsMonitoring inventory levels to minimize overstock while preventing stockoutsVerifying receipt of orders and accurately putting away inventoryMaintaining organized shelves and updating inventory records and documentationProcessing returns, requesting supplier credits, and tracking backordered itemsCoordinating with vendors, internal customers, and team members via email and in personSupporting ongoing projects and day-to-day operational tasks as they ariseEnsuring all stockroom locations meet safety, cleanliness, and organizational standardsThis role requires strong attention to detail, follow-through, and a customer-focused mindset in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.QualificationsRequiredPrevious experience in inventory, stockroom, warehouse, or supply support rolesStrong organizational and time-management skillsAttention to detail with the ability to balance competing prioritiesComfortable communicating with vendors, customers, and team membersAbility to perform physical job duties, including:Lifting up to 25 lbsStanding, bending, sweeping, and general stockroom cleaning as neededPreferredExperience with purchasing or inventory management systemsFamiliarity with SAP or similar enterprise systemsExperience working with Safety Data Sheets (SDS)Prior experience supporting laboratory, research, or technical environmentsBenefitsDahl Consulting is proud to offer a comprehensive benefits package to eligible employees that will allow you to choose the best coverage to meet your family's needs.
