Vice President of Multifamily Operations

Location: Bala Cynwyd, PA (significant travel required)Reports to: Executive LeadershipOverviewA growing real estate investment and operating platform is seeking a Vice President of Multifamily Operations to oversee a diverse portfolio of apartment communities. This leadership role combines operations, asset management, and transaction involvement, and is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.The position will play a key role in driving property performance, supporting acquisitions and dispositions, and establishing scalable operational frameworks across the portfolio.Key ResponsibilitiesPortfolio Operations LeadershipDirect oversight of day-to-day operations across a multifamily portfolio, ensuring strong performance in occupancy, NOI, and resident satisfactionLead and develop regional and corporate teams, including hiring, coaching, and performance managementEstablish and maintain consistent operating standards across leasing, maintenance, compliance, and customer experienceConduct regular property visits to assess operations, physical condition, and team effectivenessIdentify operational inefficiencies and implement strategies to improve performance and scalabilityTransactions & Asset StrategyParticipate in evaluating new investment opportunities, including underwriting and due diligenceContribute to business plan development for acquisitions and oversee execution post-closeSupport financing efforts by preparing materials and assisting with lender coordinationPartner with internal and external stakeholders throughout acquisition, refinance, and disposition processesFinancial Oversight & PerformanceLead annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting processes across the portfolioReview operating results, analyze variances, and implement action plans to drive performanceOversee revenue optimization strategies including pricing, leasing velocity, and occupancy managementEnsure disciplined expense management and vendor oversightLeasing, Marketing & Market IntelligenceMonitor local market conditions including rents, concessions, and competitive positioningEnsure leasing and marketing strategies are aligned with asset-level goalsOversee online presence and listing accuracy across digital platformsCapital Improvements & Asset QualityIdentify and prioritize capital projects to enhance asset value and resident experienceCollaborate with leadership on capital planning and execution strategiesOversee project implementation in coordination with construction and maintenance teamsStakeholder Communication & Risk ManagementServe as a key point of contact for ownership and investment partnersProvide regular updates on portfolio performance, risks, and opportunitiesMaintain relationships with lenders and support reporting requirementsRespond quickly to operational challenges and manage escalated issues or emergenciesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, or related field preferred10+ years of multifamily experience across operations, asset management, and/or investmentsProven track record of improving asset performance and driving portfolio valueStrong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and KPI analysisExperience with property management platforms (e.g., Yardi, RealPage) and advanced Excel skillsAbility to operate both strategically and tactically in a hands-on environmentStrong leadership, communication, and problem-solving capabilitiesView the full list of our open positions here: Main Line Search Job Openings
