Position Summary:The Production Supervisor leads and coordinates manufacturing operations through subordinate supervisors and team members. This role is responsible for overseeing daily production activities, ensuring product quality, meeting delivery requirements, and maintaining safe, efficient operations. The Production Supervisor applies knowledge of production methods, product technology, and equipment capabilities to optimize performance and costs.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with management to establish production goals, quality standards, budget expectations, and cost controlsPlan, direct, and prioritize production activities to align with operational efficiency and cost objectivesCoordinate production efforts with procurement, maintenance, engineering, and quality teams to maximize resource utilizationReview production, quality, maintenance, and operational reports to identify issues, trends, and opportunities for improvementInvestigate causes of production or quality nonconformance and implement corrective actionsDevelop and implement improved operating methods and procedures to enhance productivity and product qualityAdjust production schedules and priorities in response to equipment failures or operational challengesPartner with engineering to recommend and support equipment or process improvementsCompile, maintain, and retrieve production data using computerized systemsMaintain a safe and organized work environment, including implementation of 5S practicesMonitor and audit the production floor for safety, quality, and performanceApprove employee time-off requests and expense reports through the HR systemAddress employee relations issues as the first point of contactIssue verbal and written corrective actions, performance improvement plans, and disciplinary documentation as neededComplete incident and accident reports when requiredConduct performance evaluations, set goals, and review progress with employeesCreate and manage employee schedules and work assignmentsSupport training and ongoing safety initiativesParticipate in and support daily production meetings Present at quarterly operator information meetings on manufacturing or plastic engineering-related topicsThis description reflects the general nature of the role and is not an exhaustive list of duties. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as business needs require.Required Competencies, Skills, and Experience:Prior experience in a manufacturing environment; experience preferredDemonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn and apply manufacturing processesStrong organizational and leadership skillsAbility to read machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instrumentsAbility to monitor machine operation and recognize abnormal sounds or behavior to diagnose issuesEducation and Experience Requirements:Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production setting
